Polar Express Day

Look at those footprints .... who could it be ?

Santas grotto travelled from North Pole .... doesn't it look fantastic ; if not a little cold!

The children were given their very own ice cold bell from the North Pole to look after all day ! Could they manage it ?
Some children made pyramids, bags, bracelets and homemade boxes out of junk modelling to keep the bell nice and safe !

Santa Willoughby guided by head reindeer Rudolph Kayden !

Thomas's train door ready for us to board !

Santa Cody .... I hope theres a pressie for me !
Snow dough .....brrrr
I'm finding the North Pole ...... There is Stickney!

The Elves have been very busy!

Christmas Big Talk

Christmas Big Talk
As it's getting close to Christmas, I thought this video clip would be an interesting Big Talk Homework.
'Shoe' is just over 3 minutes long.

Shoe -Award winning animation short film(2008)
Talk about what you can see happening in the film.
Can you think of two sentences to describe what is happening?

PFTA Christmas Card Competion Winner 2013
Mrs Skinner and I ,are super proud of Orla, for winning the christmas card competition for Reception!

Orla always takes great care in all that she does .

 Getting into the Christmas Spirit
Theres nothing better than curling up by an open fire reading a good book !

Even Louie's at it !
Look how beautifully Reception decorated their Christmas Tree !
The children wanted to make a 'poofey' christmas tree for our display board.Thomas,Harley and Jasmine got to work cutting strips of green card and ribbon to loop and place on our triangle.

Look a sticky out circle !
We finished it off with a star and real working light .... now to finish off our name lights !
The children continued our Christmassy pattern making outside using the cones .

It's beginning to feel a lot like christmas !

Christmas Craft Afternoon
Day 6 of our Christmas countdown started with lots of glitter, paint and fun !

In Reception we have got christmas fever already :-) which was only exacerbated by our annual christmas craft afternoon. The children and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many parents, grandparents and siblings.Thank you for all your help!

In Reception we had something for all ages!
Little brothers, Mummys and Daddys all crowded round our Giant Colouring tree... The children couldnt wait to get started .... perhaps the glitter needs to come out next?
Bauble decorating proved very popular the children even applied our learning in patterns , great stuff !

Mrs Beard I think our lovely patterned paperchain needs silver glitter and lots of it !

Reception were brilliant hosts and couldn't wait to show their family around!

Every artist needs a break !

Reception are blogging their socks off !!

Olivia's first blog

I think it is a volcano because it is steaming hot and when it is night time the volcano gets blocked. There is an insect climbing in it. The top of the volcano burns. The blue bit looks like a volcano light. There are stars in the sky and a white bit which leads you to treasure.
This picture looks like a mountain on fire at night time, with a shooting star above it.

I see a burning thing, fire, theres stars, it is getting night time. I think you'll get burned but if you do you get ice cubes and...(going into the kitchen) ....and this! (Bringing me the clingfilm)
